Meet Toast
A welcoming day of on-site team headshots at Toast’s London office, with a consistent look and a session built around a busy working day.
I recently spent the day at Toast’s offices in central London, photographing a fresh set of team headshots.
The team were genuinely welcoming and helpful from the moment I arrived. It was a busy working day (as you’d expect), so the session needed to fit around meetings and priorities, without turning the office into a production.
About this session
A consistent set of headshots, photographed on-site, with a mix of booked slots and a light drop-in flow so people could step in when it suited their day.
Who are Toast?
Toast (Toasttab) builds restaurant technology, best known for its point of sale and wider restaurant management platform. In plain English, it helps restaurants take orders, take payments, and run service and operations in one joined-up system.
From what you see on the floor to what happens behind the scenes, Toast brings a lot of the moving parts together. That can include:
- Front of house: point of sale, handheld ordering, self-ordering options, and Mobile Order & Pay.
- Payments: built-in payment processing designed to work with the rest of the system.
- Online ordering: a direct online ordering setup that connects back to the POS and kitchen.
- Guest engagement: tools like loyalty and email marketing.
- Back of house: kitchen display screens to help keep service flowing.
If you want to explore, these pages are a good place to start: Point of sale, Payments, Online ordering, and Loyalty.
A headshot day in a working office
- Consistency:
- same lighting and background, so the set looks like one shoot.
- Pace:
- people could step in quickly and get back to their day.
- Comfort:
- a calm, friendly feel so nobody dreaded their turn.
Why consistency matters for team headshots
When a company profile page is made up of lots of different photos, it starts to look pieced together. It’s not the end of the world, but it can feel untidy and it’s rarely the impression you want to give.
A consistent set makes your website, LinkedIn banners, and press usage feel joined up. It also makes future updates easier, because you’ve already set the standard.
A quick thank you
Big thanks to Toast for having me in. It’s always a pleasure photographing a team that’s friendly, welcoming, and happy to help things run smoothly.
